    Hello,

I wonder if you can help me? I’m a film producer currently working on a documentary about the American sheriff. We will be in Durham later this month to find out more about the sheriff’s election in the county. We would really appreciate your input and guidance. Would it be possible for somebody to get in touch? My email is cburgoyne@belowtheradar.tv. With best wishes, Claire Burgoyne

Hi there, I am the Vice Chairman for the Republican and Libertarian Law Students Association at North Carolina Central University School of Law. We have scheduled Dr. Alveda King to come and speak at the law school on March 29, 2018 at Noon. We have been informed of potential protesting and were wondering if anyone in the Durham Republicans office has any advice or guidance they can provide from past experience on how to best handle this, as we do not want our right to have her on Campus infringed.

Any and all ideas/guidance would be greatly appreciated. NCCU is currently looking into what they can and cannot do.

    Thank you in advance.

You have an office. Why is there no phone number or contact person to reach?

I need more help to vote for the least communist democrats in the election. Jarvis was helpful, but not enough.

More information on all candidates for office in summary form for a busy public is essential. Especially background on judges. Nobody outside the courthouse knows these dudes and their judicial philosophy.

My wife and I recently changed our affiliation to the Republican Party. We are beginning to question that move. Some of the members in the swamp still won;t back President Trump no matter what he does. WE WILL NOT SUPPORT the Republicans in the next election, no money no votes, no nothing. The never Trumpers are throwing him under the bus and I will not support that bunch of thugs. That is what they are, low life clowns like the demonstrators in Charlottesville and Durham. Senators Burr and Tillis are on top of the list. Don’t be contacting me for money or any kind of assistance in future until the Republican party starts supporting President Trump.

    Good morning,

My name is Stewart Johnson and I am a program coordinator with the Men’s Achievement Center (MAC) at North Carolina Central University. I apologize in advance as I know this is a place for feedback but as I have not found another way to contact your party I am having to use this space. I am contacting you today to ask if you, or any other chair or representative of your party, would be interested in participating in a program the MAC is hosting called, “Knowing Your Left From Your Right”. This program is designed to inform NCCU students about the two major parties and their interests while inspiring them to become civically engaged. In my observation the Republican Party is underrepresented among the black community and even shunned. I would like to give my students the opportunity to be educated properly so they can make an informed decision about their party affiliation. If you could assist me in acquiring a representative to speak on behalf of your party for this program it would be most appreciated. The information for the program is below to help with coordinating schedules. Thank you in advance for your help.

    Refugee Processing and Security Screening

This Web page provides information about the security screening and background checks required by the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) as well as the refugee resettlement process. The USRAP is an interagency effort which includes a number of governmental and non-governmental partners both abroad and in the United States. Refugee applicants have the highest level of background and security checks of any category of traveler to the United States.

I thought this event might be of interest to Durham Republicans.

Michael Wear is coming to Duke this Tuesday (March 21st) to share his reflections on the future of faith in America after serving in the Obama White House, where he worked in the Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partners on issues like adoption and anti-human trafficking efforts. Michael has also been critical of Democrats for failing to try to understand and reach out to religious Americans: https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/12/democrats-have-a-religion-problem/510761/ . There will be light refreshments at the evening event (6pm, Westbrook 0016). The Facebook page for the event is here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1846273932306567/

Let me know if you have any questions. I would love to see folks from Durham Republicans show up and hear what Mr. Wear has to say. There should also be a substantial number of graduate and undergraduate students present, which could be good for getting people involved locally. I’m copying Mr. Wear’s full bio below.

    ———

Speaker Bio: Michael Wear is the founder of Public Square Strategies LLC, and a leading expert and strategist at the intersection of faith, politics and American public life. As one of President Obama’s “ambassadors to America’s believers” (Buzzfeed), Michael directed faith outreach for President Obama’s historic 2012 re-election campaign. Michael was also one of the youngest White House staffers in modern American history: he served in the White House faith-based initiative during President Obama’s first term, where he led evangelical outreach and helped manage The White House’s engagement on religious and values issues, including adoption and anti-human trafficking efforts.

Today, Public Square Strategies LLC is a sought-after firm that helps religious organizations, political organizations, businesses and others effectively navigate the rapidly changing American religious and political landscape.

Michael is the author of Reclaiming Hope: Lessons Learned in the Obama White House About the Future of Faith in America. He also writes for The Atlantic, Christianity Today, USA Today, Relevant Magazine and other publications on faith, politics and culture. He serves on the national board of Bethany Christian Services, the nation’s largest adoption agency, and holds an honorary position at the University of Birmingham’s Cadbury Center for the Public Understanding of Religion. Michael and his wife, Melissa, are both proud natives of Buffalo, New York. They now reside in Washington, D.C.

On Monday, Jan. 31, 2017, Orange County illegally disposed of livestock it had illegally impounded, in violation of the laws below.

LAWS VIOLATED by Orange Cty Officials known so as to enable private interests to “take” for urban growth and private profit (may be other laws)

    - NCSL 2011-363, Farm Protection, which removed, in total, jurisdictional control for all purposes by municipalities of ETJ farms

    - OCAS Ord. 4-45 animal nuisance “dog only” law which excludes livestock

    - G.S. 106-701 preempts OCAS Sec 4-45(3); as latter also is applicable only to dogs re public nuisance

    - OCAS Ord. Sec. 4-51 prescribes a civil solution, NOT a criminal one [Why did OC file and prosecute owner Kille both civiilly and criminally, then deny “due process” AND “just compensation” to farm owner?

    - NC G.S. 106-701, No Ag facility can be prosecuted as a “nuisance” after one yr in operation AND when 3rd parties move into proximity knowing in

advance that the Ag facility exists (Carrboro apts. opposite Kille’s OC farm built on annexed former OC farmland about 1998)

    - G.S. 68-16, if livestock released by vandals, owner would not be liable

    - G.S. 68-18. owner must be promptly notified and provided whereabouts of impounded livestock, not limited to posting an impoundment notice on the

owner’s property if owner is known. OC disregarded all provisions og this statute.

    - G.S. 68-17, when vandals have been apprehended, OC Sheriff has failed to arrest; DA has failed to allow admission of law enforcement records as trial evidence or to prosecute.
Note: Language of OCAS 4-42, for decades, only applied to “vicious” dogs. On Nov. 15, 2016, OC officials substituted “danderous” for “vicious” so as to obtain — on Nov. 16 —a Court Order for the purpose of impounding a single owner’s livestock on Nov. 17. THIS IS DISCRIMINATION, if nothing else!
When did NC become a “Banana Republic”?

    - G.S. 68-18.1, OC prohibits disposal of livestock; on Jan. 31, 2017 OCAS disposed of a herd [estimated value, $200,000] in violation of this and other laws.

Note: – Neighboring Carrboro has no separate animal “nuisance” ordinance; however, impounded livestock hadn’t entered incorporated limits; hadn’t caused property damage or harm to any individuals.

    - OCAS Nuisance ord, 4-45 (orig “dog law”) reads: When an animal control officer or law enforcement officer observes a violations, the owner or keeper will be provided written notification of such violation and be given 24 hours or less to abate the nuisance; NOTE: neither provision has ever been acknowledged or implemented by,OC as regards the Kille matter.

    - U.S. Constitutional laws guaranteeing civil rights of “due process” and “just compensation”. Evidence is extensive; not limited to trial transcript, eyewitness accounts, recordings.
