When you yahoos say “we do not know who the refugees are”, it is a statement of your own ignorance.
Refugee Processing and Security Screening
This Web page provides information about the security screening and background checks required by the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (
) as well as the refugee resettlement process. The
is an interagency effort which includes a number of governmental and non-governmental partners both abroad and in the United States. Refugee applicants have the highest level of background and security checks of any category of traveler to the United States.

I thought this event might be of interest to Durham Republicans.
Michael Wear is coming to Duke this Tuesday (March 21st) to share his reflections on the future of faith in America after serving in the Obama White House, where he worked in the Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partners on issues like adoption and anti-human trafficking efforts. Michael has also been critical of Democrats for failing to try to understand and reach out to religious Americans:
. There will be light refreshments at the evening event (6pm, Westbrook 0016). The Facebook page for the event is here:
Let me know if you have any questions. I would love to see folks from Durham Republicans show up and hear what Mr. Wear has to say. There should also be a substantial number of graduate and undergraduate students present, which could be good for getting people involved locally. I’m copying Mr. Wear’s full bio below.
Speaker Bio: Michael Wear is the founder of Public Square Strategies
, and a leading expert and strategist at the intersection of faith, politics and American public life. As one of President Obama’s “ambassadors to America’s believers” (Buzzfeed), Michael directed faith outreach for President Obama’s historic 2012 re-election campaign. Michael was also one of the youngest White House staffers in modern American history: he served in the White House faith-based initiative during President Obama’s first term, where he led evangelical outreach and helped manage The White House’s engagement on religious and values issues, including adoption and anti-human trafficking efforts.
Today, Public Square Strategies
is a sought-after firm that helps religious organizations, political organizations, businesses and others effectively navigate the rapidly changing American religious and political landscape.
Michael is the author of Reclaiming Hope: Lessons Learned in the Obama White House About the Future of Faith in America. He also writes for The Atlantic, Christianity Today,
Today, Relevant Magazine and other publications on faith, politics and culture. He serves on the national board of Bethany Christian Services, the nation’s largest adoption agency, and holds an honorary position at the University of Birmingham’s Cadbury Center for the Public Understanding of Religion. Michael and his wife, Melissa, are both proud natives of Buffalo, New York. They now reside in Washington, D.C.

Why did our
Senators vote to stop Coretta Scott King’s words being read about Jeff Sessions. This not bipartisan. It is bullying. Jeff Sessions is a threat to me, my family and my neighborhood. As a fellow republican, I ask the durhamgop to speak out against him. We can be better.

On Monday, Jan. 31, 2017, Orange County illegally disposed of livestock it had illegally impounded, in violation of the laws below.
by Orange Cty Officials known so as to enable private interests to “take” for urban growth and private profit (may be other laws)
2011-363, Farm Protection, which removed, in total, jurisdictional control for all purposes by municipalities of
Ord. 4-45 animal nuisance “dog only” law which excludes livestock
- G.S. 106-701 preempts
Sec 4-45(3); as latter also is applicable only to dogs re public nuisance
Ord. Sec. 4-51 prescribes a civil solution,
a criminal one [Why did OC file and prosecute owner Kille both civiilly and criminally, then deny “due process”
“just compensation” to farm owner?
- NC G.S. 106-701, No Ag facility can be prosecuted as a “nuisance” after one yr in operation
when 3rd parties move into proximity knowing in
advance that the Ag facility exists (Carrboro apts. opposite Kille’s OC farm built on annexed former OC farmland about 1998)
- G.S. 68-16, if livestock released by vandals, owner would not be liable
- G.S. 68-18. owner must be promptly notified and provided whereabouts of impounded livestock, not limited to posting an impoundment notice on the
owner’s property if owner is known. OC disregarded all provisions og this statute.
- G.S. 68-17, when vandals have been apprehended, OC Sheriff has failed to arrest; DA has failed to allow admission of law enforcement records as trial evidence or to prosecute.
Note: Language of
4-42, for decades, only applied to “vicious” dogs. On Nov. 15, 2016, OC officials substituted “danderous” for “vicious” so as to obtain — on Nov. 16 —a Court Order for the purpose of impounding a single owner’s livestock on Nov. 17.
, if nothing else!
When did NC become a “Banana Republic”?
- G.S. 68-18.1, OC prohibits disposal of livestock; on Jan. 31, 2017
disposed of a herd [estimated value, $200,000] in violation of this and other laws.
Note: – Neighboring Carrboro has no separate animal “nuisance” ordinance; however, impounded livestock hadn’t entered incorporated limits; hadn’t caused property damage or harm to any individuals.
Nuisance ord, 4-45 (orig “dog law”) reads: When an animal control officer or law enforcement officer observes a violations, the owner or keeper will be provided written notification of such violation and be given 24 hours or less to abate the nuisance;
: neither provision has ever been acknowledged or implemented by,OC as regards the Kille matter.
- U.S. Constitutional laws guaranteeing civil rights of “due process” and “just compensation”. Evidence is extensive; not limited to trial transcript, eyewitness accounts, recordings.

Notice: trump signs all missing around Forest Hills Clubhouse on University drive in Durham
2016-11-04 10:24:10 -0400
Just voted at the Garrett Road site and was very disappointed that there were two volunteers handing out Turn Blue NC Democratic information and no one representing the Republican Party and no information for the Republican Party Also
of the Trump signs that were there yesterday are now gone.
one Trump/Pence sign on the property yet an abundance of Democratic signs. I really do try to not voice my opinion too strong yet this is bothersome to me as I went there yesterday to vote (left because line was too long) and there Trump signs up and now they are all gone. Hopefully someone can get them replaced and have volunteers present.

We need Republican supporters at 6900 Garrett Rd early polling location. Hillary supporters are harassing some voters and all the Trump signs have been pulled up by them this morning!

Re: 1 Poll Observer. I worked at NC One Stop Site, Durham Tech North, 2401 Snow Hill Rd, Durham, NC 27712 from Tuesday, October 25 Setup, then Thursday October 27-31, 2016. On Monday, October 31, a male Republican Poll Observer was denied access, as he was not on the Poll Observer list provided by the Durham County Board of Elections to the site Chief Judge. Why ? ? ?

Emerald Pond residents—please feel free to call me if you need a ride to the polls!! Maggie Considine, 919-401-7615.

Where is the Republican headquarters in Durham? Where can I pick up bumper
stickers and yard signs?
Why is there no phone number or address listed on your website!?

Just voted at the East Main St. Durham, NC location (church). There was someone out front of the church giving out "Turn NC Blue " information with a slate of Dem. candidates. There was no one there doing the same with Republican info. Also, there were only Dem. candidate signs up around the voting site.

I went to an early voting site (Eno River Unitarian Church) on Garrett Rd yesterday. I was shocked to see people holding clipboards with the words “Democratic Party” on them and approaching people in line to hand out a close replica of the actual ballot
! I can’t believe this is allowed. They were very close to the building. My concern is that if people showed up intending to vote for one or just some of the candidates (or were uninformed about their choices), this certainly could be unreasonable influence. They were saying “This will make it easier when you get inside”. I was not approached (maybe because I am older and white), but all people of color and young people were being offered these “pre-marked” ballots. I have placed a call to Kate Cosner at the Durham
, but have not had a response. Do you have poll watchers out there or someone that can check on this situation. Thanks for all your hard work.

Folks – just an
as a beleaguered conservative residing in the Peoples Republic of Durham – my wife just voted early at the Durham County library off 54 on the south side of 40. She was looking for a Republican sample ballot and none was to be found. However, there were four people giving out Democrat sample ballots.

Several residents at Emerald Pond Retirement center need a ride to vote. The bus is filled so many of us are without transportation. Most of us all have a handicap of some kind. As yet we have not been able to convince management to make a second run with the bus b/c of the length of time it takes to process a load. We DO want to vote and know how important this election is.

The Chad Adams Show is North Carolina’s only statewide conservative daily radio talk show. It is broadcasted live from 9am – 11am on Monday through Friday. You can get the show online, streaming and in select terrestrial markets.
The Chad Adams Show keeps North Carolinians informed by letting them know what is happening in our state. Years ago dozens of reporters covered statewide news from the State Capital, now, there are only about 5 reporters in the press pool at the NC General Assembly. So much happens daily in Raleigh that people across the state simply do not hear about. This show is dedicated to keeping listeners informed about what is happening in North Carolina. The show features NC news makers, policy makers, political leaders from both parties, business leaders, and education leaders.
Listen to the show live from 9am – 11am or in rebroadcast daily at: www.chadadamsshow.com
Download our streaming app from the Apple Store for your iPhone/iPad or from the Google Play store for your Android device. Search “The Chad Adams Show.”
Also, you can watch the show live on our Facebook page starting at 9:05 am on weekday mornings. Search “The Chad Adams Show” on Facebook and like us to keep up with the show.

The party put trump on the ballot and he got voted in to represent the party by a large majority. So I am in dismayed by the rejection of trump by the party now and lack of support by
leaders. They need to fully back Trump. The consequences of not are very grave. I am a small business owner in Durham and consider Obamacare government genocide on people like me. I have had health insurance for 30 years and now when It may be needed I most likely will not be able to afford it.By the way I agree 100 percent with Trump’s positions and zero with Hillary’s. I think Trump runs off with the mouth to much though. If he has done illegal things I am sure he would be in jail or brought to court for it. Thank you
